Global Gateway

The Convia Global Gateway is an integrated hardware and software solution that manages all devices on the Convia system and automates them within your environment. The Global Gateway enables you to control your systems in an easy-to-use interface, which can make buildings dramatically more flexible and energy efficient.

With the Global Gateway, facility managers have control of everything, ranging from a single light to an entire building. Owners can give employees the freedom to manage the temperature and lighting in their individual workstations. Convia’s Energy Track reporting system helps users understand the impact of their energy usage, and the Global Gateway is used to adapt the building to meet objectives as they evolve over time. Every zone or node on the network can be optimized and controlled with the Global Gateway.

By assigning different priority levels to various lighting zones, the Gateway can also be used to manage load shedding and demand response, which can be an important part of energy savings, and may qualify a building for LEED® certification, tax incentives or Auto Demand Response programs offered by local utilities.

Whether at the administrator level or the workstation level, the same intuitive Global Gateway interface makes it easy to monitor the building you are in, or the building across town. With the Global Gateway’s range of access points, you choose how you want to view and control your building(s). The power is yours.

Convia Wand

Through the use of Convia’s two-button, wireless Wand, any light can be controlled individually or in a group based on the specialized needs of a space. With the Wand, any light or zone of lights can be programmed to respond to any switch, sensor, or scene controller on the Convia system.

Just aim the Wand at any switch and then at the lights you want to link, and the association is made instantly. Disassociating devices is just as easy.

The Wand contains an infrared transmitter and an aligned laser that provides a visual guide for selecting sensors and actuators, virtually linking them together. It uses 2AA batteries and includes a Class IIIA laser product.

The Wand eliminates the need for hard-wiring between lights and switches. The result is virtual rewiring of a building’s entire lighting system at the touch of a button.

Protocol Bridge

The Protocol Bridge is a translator utilizing serial, Ethernet or LonWorks protocols. It provides a wealth of features to enable data transfer between instruments, systems, machines, devices, and networks that use non-compatible data protocols. The extensive library of Protocol Bridge drivers provides easy interoperability with devices and networks used in building automation, HVAC, fire, and process control industries.

The Protocol Bridge allows Convia to interface with the primary building automation control systems using BACnet, LonWorks, Modbus, and more. Designed to meet the needs of system integrators for a completely interoperable system, the Protocol Bridge brings together a powerful driver library and state-of-the-art gateway design.

Convia’s Protocol Bridge includes four serial connections (two RS-232, two RS-485), two Ethernet ports, and a LonWorks port. The multiport design allows for serial-to-serial interfaces or interface from mulitple serial products to an Ethernet or LonWorks network. The two Ethernet ports enable the integrator to connect a PC to download configuration changes without disturbing the system connections and without the additional cost of an external hub.

Sensor Interface Module

The Sensor Interface Module (SIM) connects third party sensors, including occupancy sensors and photocell sensors, to the Convia system and allows the sensor to be a defined input on the Convia system.

The Sensor Interface Module eliminates the need to hard-wire sensors and allows them to be programmed to any or all lighting zones on the Convia network. Sensors can be installed with plug-and-play ease and added at any time within the lifecycle of the building with no disruption.

Switch

Convia’s innovative Switch is a switchable dimming device that can be associated with Convia Enabled Wiremold® actuators using the Convia Wand or Global Gateway to control lights or other devices connected to the ConviaNET network.

Designed to fit in a standard low voltage box, the Switch uses standard Decora™ faceplates allowing maximum flexibility to coordinate with today’s style-conscious designers.

Offering a full range of ON/OFF/Dimming capabilities, Convia Switches are programmed either with the Convia Wand or the Global Gateway, and allow you to meet the requirements of your energy management strategies.

All components of the Convia system feature plug-and-play functionality, which means that if renovation of a space is required, Switches can be easily removed, repositioned and re-patched with Convia Enabled Wiremold® patch cords.

Scene Controller

Convia’s Scene Controller, combined with Wiremold's flexible power distribution, gives you instantaneous, pushbutton control of the entire range of HVAC, lighting, and AV strategies. This Decora™-style, wall-mounted controller lets users vary fixture brightness and color temperature to select the perfect quality and intensity of light. The Scene Controller offers superior control of up to four zones (groups) of lights simultaneously. Users can save individual light settings as scenes, which the Scene Controller will recall at the touch of a button.

Scene controllers fit Decora™ faceplates. They are simple to install, easy to operate, and can be programmed with the Convia Wand or the Global Gateway.
